![]() Known as one of Batman’s most brutal and efficient villains with a highly intellectual mind to match his evil ways, Bane was killed during a large scale Joker toxin attack on Arkham Asylum that left dozens dead and effectively shut down the asylum for good. And while this new wrinkle in the story of Bane is just beginning, it can’t be denied that it’s something that has greatly affected Batman, his city and the general outlook of its citizen moving forward. Essentially serving as a martyr despite the near-constant threat he has posed to Gotham and the members of the Bat-Family on a good day, Bane’s death has had a strange effect on the people of the city, one that is completely at odds with what fans might expect. As a new chapter in DC Comics unfolds with the beginning of the Infinite Frontierinitiative, Bane has been murdered during the events of A-Day, and in its aftermath, Batman's city has taken to treating him like a hero.
